coat: Mint & Berry via Zalando - velvet dress: c/o WEfashion x Nina - tights: Pimkie - studded boots: c/o RAS shoes
Whenever velvet is back in style, I try to hold on to the thought that I don't really need anything velvet until I am unable to resist the urge to really buy All. Of. It. When this dress arrived upon my doorstep, all bets were off: the stunning warm gold, the high neck and the three quarter sleeves all make this such a versatile piece without becoming boring or basic. I mean, wear this with opaque tights, brogues and a blazer and it's perfect for work, while a pair of heels and some fun tights (fishnets are super on trend right now) make this a great piece for the upcoming holiday party season. Not bad at €40. The dress has functioned as a sort of gateway drug and I have since bought three other velvet pieces. Oops.
Only tricky thing about the dress is what to pair it with. This type of mustard/marigold isn't the easiest to combine with other colours, but I feel like I succeeded surprisingly well by going for my eggplant robe coat. Vibrant but not too out there. Ya dig? Perfectly autumnal.
