So, I took y'all's advice on my post on raw photography, and downloaded a one month free trial version of Lightroom. I promptly used it to edit these pictures, and while I'm still learning how to fully use the software, I absolutely love how they turned out! One thing that UFRAW (my other raw editing program) did not offer, was sharpening parts of the image. Lightroom has a bunch of other cool features that make it so easy to use, and I'm pretty sure I'll be turning my free trial version in a real purchase. So thanks for finally giving me that nudge, guys!

Outfit talk: I have a feeling that my style this fall/winter will less sporty and casual than it has been the last two years, and more feminine with some subtle retro touches here and there. Case in point: this outfit. I used to love the fit-and-flare silhouette and then I almost totally stopped wearing it, but here I am again. This skirt is just too perfect to pass up on, and the thick, heavy fabric makes it perfect for the current transitional weather in Belgium.

The thing that pulls the entire look together, though, is my choice of footwear. I've been feeling brogues and derbies lately, and I have the impression that these are going to be almost as omnipresent as A-line, button through mini skirts this F/W style season. I've seen so many brands come up with their own version of the shoe, and it really goes with everything. This particular pair was a gift to me by Lacoste, and as soon as I put them on I was delighter: for one, these are real leather. Patent faux leather can be very stiff and lead to blister-central on my feet, but these have already nicely softened up. I didn't even experience any real discomfort while walking them in the first two days, so I'm sure these will become a fall favourite. So cute with skirts and dresses! I just saw that Zalando sells them (also available in gorgeous oxblood and navy shades) so go check it out if you're still looking for a versatile, comfortable pair of shoes for work and play.

I've also been thinking about bringing back the "shop similar" widget (possibly giving me a little income, and you a little inspiration), so here goes! Btw I promise to always look for stuff that is actually affordable and things I would buy myself, if I can't find the exact item I'm wearing in the post.
