Teenager, Beanie, Denim Shorts

sweater: H&M - shorts: Lucky brand - boots: New Look - earrings: Topshop - beanie: Ebay - necklace: Diamanti per Tutti

I TOTALLY look like I should have been popular in highschool, right? I THOUGHT so! Or maybe more like I would play hooky a lot. Have to admit, the second possibility is a lot closer to what high school really was like for me. My sister told me some time ago she always thought I was some sort of Cher Horowitz in my class, but that was more attitude than anything else. I was way more like a punk rock Hermione Granger. I might have looked cool, but I SO wasn't in tune with my peers.

Why do I go on and on about highschool while I haven't been there in about eight years, you ask? JUST CUZ. Also, because I look like a teenager today. The current fashionz are way high school appropriate: even 40+ stylish women can be spotted in sneaker wedges these days. My boyfriend thinks it's silly, but I am enjoying the "ugh, whatEVER" spirit that comes with dressing like an adolescent.

What do YOU think? Have you noticed the current rise of immature style, and are you buying in?

PS: my make up look today was inspired by Step by Step's Dana: awesome 90s iconic babe feminist in dark lipstick.

  1. Zalige schoenen!

  3. "punk rock Hermione Granger" I would have wanted to be your best friend. Actually, that is kind of how I picture one of my HS best friends, I'll have to tell her that.
I don't know if I see myself dressing immaturely, but I do like me some high rise sneakers. When I see 40-somethings in certain items that are "young" I think its ok. Its not OK when I see them dressing like an oversexed pre-teen but that is a conversation for another day.
However, I think you look great and totally age appropriate for a 20-something!

  14. There's definitely a change of style going on in your head A! And I like! The boots are kind of a surprising part of your closet, because I never thought you'd wear them. LOVE the beanie! I've been on a hunt for the perfect blue on ever since Paris... And I only want a blue one because it matches my ombre hair so well!

You look pretty damn good in these pics, zegt dat ik het gezegd heb!!! :D

  15. I'm really loving the denim shorts, tights, and awesome boots combination in this outfit! You definitely look like a cool kid from high school. I like the adolescent style on you. It works because you're still young and can get away with wearing pretty much anything. You really do look fantastic!

  16. I love it. I like looking back on my previous self, too. I mean, I did not have a fashion blog in high school and I wore shirts. I don't think I was even fashionable back then. I just didn't care dressing up. Not the way that I do now.

    Love your outfit, Annebeth. =)

  17. I have to say - I LOVE the shorts with tights!!! It's just too cute. You look like a bad-ass. I've noticed it, it doesn't work well for me b/c of my body type, so I'm not really buying into it.

  18. if you would want to, I think Kim Kardashian has worn a few outfits in the glam-grunge style that do work on a curvy figure! I think any shape can wear any look, you just have to find your version of it :) I bet you could rock sneakerwedges with leggings or skinnies, a draped top and a blazer!
