NEW PANTS

After years of proclaiming my disbelief over the fact that some people actually find pants comfortable, let alone more comfortable than dresses and skirts, I must once again admit that I have been a dick. Actually, if you've been wearing tights and dresses/skirts for months on end during winter, you get REALLY sick of the clinginess and sweatiness of hosiery.  My skin needs to BREATHE yo! Or my leg hairs won't grow! And how can I be a real feminist without leghair, HM?

Just kidding. Both about me (willingly) growing my leg hair and about feminism being about the growth on your legs. But I am serious about tights being uncomfortable as fuck 90% of the time! Especially nylons. Ugh. I'm sick of them. And pants are actually  quite a bit more comfortable from time to time. Pants are easy. Pants are simple, carefree, casual and elegant without looking like you're trying. And that's exactly what I'm into right now.

Soooooo I went ahead and embraced the biggest trend of the moment with open arms (and open legs - The Who lyric, not me being dirty (this time)): I got me some colored skinnies! Seriously everyone and their non fashionable uncle is wearing these, even my boyfriend noticed.

Both Zara, both 30€. The neon peach pair are skinnies as well, just looks baggy on the model. Can't wait to wear these with some low fuss top + flats and get my spring on! Have you caved for the bright pant trend yet? Or are you still supporting the ILLUSION that tights are more comfortable?

  1. I love your banter. And the pants.

  2. These are adorable! I just can't wear skinny pants because they honestly don't look good on me! I'm the type that wears dresses/skirts 365 days a year, though I do ditch the tights when it's warm enough.

You want your leg hair to grow eh? Bwahaha

  3. This was very well written! You funny lady :-D
You'll wear them with infinitely more originality than most so I wouldn't worry! xx

  5. "Has Annebeth's style crysis reached it's end prematurely by the advent of the pants in her life?
Or is the promise of comfort wrapped on colorful spring skinnies going to disappoint her?

Now, seriously, those look good and it'll be nice to see someone non-cliché as you styling them. ;)

  7. Haha I actually still think that tights and skirts are comfortable and pretty and better than pants but I can't deny it: I wear pants almost every day during the week. I don't think I could ever be able to say that skirts are more comfortable than pants (even if I can say that DRESSES are: think about it, for skirts and pants you have to throw on a top too while you can wear a dress and a pair of sandals and voilà, you're ready to go!).
I love those colors anyway and now I feel the urge to buy some pastel colored pants!

  8. Allebei super mooie broeken!

  10. lol :D you should know that before I post about something, it's been going on in my mind for at least a week, so it's not like I felt crap about my style one day and solved it the next :D also, the crisis continues even if I find something I like. It's more about not knowing who I am anymore, or who I want to be, so even if I like something that doesn't mean that it fits my aspired future concept of me.

  12. Yay for pants! I'm wearing a lot more pants lately, but I still find dresses more comfortable because you don't have to think of combinations! Pants always make me feel more boring, because I can't put much creativity in a pants + top combination :(

  14. Oh man, I love colored skinny jeans. I have four pairs, though it's warm enough here that I've been wearing shorts and dresses pretty much any time I'm not working. My only problem is that new skinnies in the store are always way too tight on my calves.. I've been lucky enough to thrift some nice ones that were a little more stretched out in that area. :P

  15. I used to think like that too (dresses = easy!) but I actually think you can make a lot more interesting combinations with separates and that's the main reason why I've turned away from dresses to pants and skirts + tops. A dress is always a dress :(

  16. Gorgeous! Would love those neon ones too, I already have the mint ones, must say they look ridiculously short on the model :-D

  17. I think tights are really comfortable in the winter, when they don't feel so clingy and hot. And I think dresses/bare legs are awesome in the summer. But yeah, for spring, it's pants all the way. I haven't bought any yet... but I'm going to. But I also get all resentful with pants because if you're a bit pear-shaped they just never look that awesome, unlike on leggy types like you. And that's not body hatred, that's just an unfortunate fact.

  19. I just wear leggings instead of tights now... tights are a terror. And I never understand the point of nylons. Why wear something that's only going to make it look like I'm not wearing something?! I think I said this before, or maybe it was on someone else's blog, but the few coloured pairs of pants I've tried on were all in stores targeted at younger audiences and so were super low rise, or where sizing up just meant they got longer and not any bigger hah. I'll stick to skirts and dresses and rompers for me.

Dat gezegd zijnde, I'm so with you on this one! Ik draag al kousen van oktober! Oktober! Outrage!

  22. I wear nylonswhen tights are too warm but bare legs too cold, usually black ones but when I want the look of bare legs but it's still a bit nippy I go for nudes. But they are so sweaty :( the colored pants I got at Zara are medium rise! but more expensive than the teen versions probably :D

  23. maybe, but since you aren't deformed or anything I don't see why you should hide your pear shape, necessarily. I have a bit of a boyish figure. Nice legs but not a lot of curves. I can look quite square. But that's what it is, I don't mind it as much as I used to. I used to hate pants on me.

  24. But you've worn dresses with sweaters on so many occasions. IMO such a combo requires even more creativity than matching a skirt with a top because the mind usually already sees that as being complete. You don't have to worry about finding the right top to go with the pants of your choice. Or vice versa.

  25. love them both! and I love to wear skinny jeans/pants + tights, don't have a favorite, it just depends on my mood :)
