High Kickin' Leaves!

Last week, Brenda and me quickly snapped some outfit pictures in front of a church right off campus. I had been admiring the beautiful court yard for years walking past it, so when the yellow leaves and beautiful afternoon light colored the scenery all golden I just couldn't resist any longer.

Pro tip for outfit shoots: try to find a balance between the background making the colors of your outfit stand out (blue-brown in my case or cold-warm, more generally speaking) and you being in tune with your surroundings (romantic outfit with romantic background and/or certain color elements returning in background and outfit). Think of it as a concept behind your shoot, which ensures the end product to have some harmony to it.

And now you know where I got my title! :-D I tried to do a fun leaf kick picture but I totally missed (quite an accomplishment when you're basically standing knee deep in leaves) and when I uploaded the pictures I was pretty amazed at how high my kick was! :-D I would have been a great cheerleader if it wasn't for me living in Belgium (no cheerleaders) and for me having two left feet. My high kick is a boss.

dress: T2 vintage

loafers: River Island

  6. Haha, I love your high kick! You wouldn't want to be a cheerleader but I'm sure they'd be proud to have you! I like the warm-cold dynamic in pictures but I'm also a big fan of warm on warm (maybe cos I'm such a coldie)!
