Pink and Pears

When the sun came out a few days ago, I seized the opportunity to take my lovely pink vintage frock out for a final spin before going into hibernation. A petticoat, a dandelion and the quinces of our tiny little quince tree make for some lovely indian summer pics.

I know it's possible to make jam with quinces, but I haven never done so in my life. I have heard horrorstories about these fruits needing to be cooked like 3 days in order to get them slightly edible, but I think I'll be a proper stepford housewife and take the plunge one of these days! Any experience with these?

dress: Etsy
shoes: Texto
bag: Pimkie
belt: H&M
headband, sunglasses don't remember
ring: Alex Monroe

PS: I'm totally dyeing my ends pink one of these days, possibly next week. But first, I'm going to bleach my ends just a teensy bit more to have more of a noticable effect. I'm aiming for this:

last pic: the awesome Naomidee

What do you think? I'd like something kooky yet subtle and not TOO bright, I don't want atomic pink ends but rather something slightly muddy and washed out. Fingers crossed for it to work! Tips or thoughts concerning weird hair colors, anyone? :-D

  2. U look so romantic <3 I'm gonna miss the summer! But on the other hand I can't wait to return to my beloved winter grunge look :p
On the hair, I want to bleach my ends too, but my past bleaching experiences have taught me not to take that path ever again.
On the fruit, my mom makes a sort jam out of them. And you need to cook them a long time, but not 3 days, more like several hours. But I'm not sure if they'd turn out soft, if that's what u want.

  6. I've always wanted to tint my ends pink!!! I asked my manager (I work at a bank) if I could and I was declined the opportunity...as much as my manager would love to let me, it's not okay per our guidelines:( So I will live vicariously through you!! You will look awesome!!

  8. I love the silhouette and subtle details of your dress! When I was growing up I HATED the color pink but now I own 5 vintage pink dresses hehe. You should definitely dye your hair pink while you can, later in life you might have a restrictive work environment that will frown on more creative styles. Can't wait to see how it turns out on you!

  9. That dress is the perfect cut! You are quite the hair experimenter--I don't have the guts to do anything like that yet-- I know it's going to look good on you!

  10. Haha I totally see you doing the pink ends! You would certainly spruce things up :)
Btw, your header says 'The styling dutchma dutchman' over here, am I missing something or is that a mistake my computer makes? I already miss your flowery header btw, although this one looks cleaner, I preferred the old one!
Really pretty indian summer dress btw, if that doesn't bring out the real 'indian' temperatures, at least you're not to blame ;-)

  14. don't worry about the fruit, they can't take that long to cook!
very curious to see how you'll look with the pinks! I had my ends blue when I had long hair and it was pretty cool - I'd use something that comes out easily if I were you, just for trials!

  19. what a truly pretty pink dress. I had seen that you dyed your hair some pink but I am trying to work on entries I've missed out on before I get to it. I used to have pink hair when I was a teenager. Sometimes I miss it but I don't think it would suit me any longer. I am sure it looks cute on you though! It would look sweet with this dress.
