Hot Hot Heat

We're experiencing a tiny little heatwave over here (FINALLY YEAH). Whenever the temperatures reach that point where you'd walk the streets naked if you could, my closet only offers a limited selection of weather-proof options. After all, it doesn't make much sense to own a lot of sveltering heat appropriate garments when the thermometer hardly ever points any higher than 20°C, if we're lucky.

HOWEVER, today and yesterday were two of those days. This dress ticks almost all of my summer heat boxes:

  • cotton
  •  not covering too much skin yet modest (no cleavage or spaghetti straps, not too short)
  • can be worn sans bra without looking messy/too sexy
  • fabric has just the right amount of heaviness in order not to reveal my unmentionables at the lightest breeze
  • printed so it doesn't show sweat marks or my underwear
  • it has a bow

Only thing I would change: brighter colors! But it is pretty much perfect in every way, like Mary Poppins :-)

Every time the weather gets like this I think to myself I should buy more dresses like this one, but that's just an excuse I tell myself to justify shopping. I SEE RIGHT THROUGH MY OWN LITTLE SCHEMES MISSY

dress: Mango
sandals: H&M
ring: Alex Monroe

  2. Yep, it has the perfect combo of modest-yet not-too-covering going on. It's amazing, with so many damn dresses out there, it's so hard to find a good one sometimes.

The weather has been awwwwesome the last two days. Too bad I'm cooped up with the evil thesis! ; D

  15. the dress is gorgeous, I don't often shop in Mango, this is really lovely though! It's 30 degrees in London, pretty stuffy and a nightmare on public transport! xx

  16. It's too bad weather (and life!) doesn't allow this kind of dressing more often. I love the red detail, such a pretty dress, it looks lovely on you.
