TART(an)

Once upon a time, these shoes were basically part of my everyday uniform. I still think they’re pretty awesome, but I only use them when the time is right, preferably to add some street cred to outfits that border on being a little too “nice girl”. I don’t like sneakers with very girly outfits, but I like em for a sort of casual girly look. Schoolgirl of some past decade.
I watched An Education yesterday and I have no idea why it got so much praise. If you ask me, the movie was hardly mediocre. I actually thought it was quite bad (and repulsive at times, especially the scene with the banana – if you’ve seen it, you know what I’m talking about) except for the acting and the outfits, but even the sixties styles were a bit disappointing. Not as perfect as Mad Men’s, for example. Anyway, I’m going to eat tiramisu and watch a Mad Men episode with my boyfriend right now, so I’m going to leave you with this uncharacteristically short post! Thanks for the sweet comments and new friends/fans/followers!

  1. I love tartan skirts, though I don't have any myself. I'll have to have a search for one.

  4. I own one pair of converse, but I can hardly ever bring myself to wear them. I like the idea of them, and how they look on other people, but whenever I put them on it's like, meh. Also, converse are becoming passe (if that's even possible) where I live. It's all about hipsters in Vans Authentics up in here. Then there's me in my vintage boots from the thrift store and polka-dot pumps.

  8. I was gifted a pair of converse for Christmas and I love them! I used to wear them all the time as a teenager and then stopped for years and was jealous of anyone else in them so I'm so glad I have a pair back in my life. And I love how you've styled yours, it's definitely a cute take on the school girl look. I still haven't seen An Education...frankly I'm just not that interested in seeing so it's good to know I'm not missing much.

  14. I used to wear Chuck Taylors with fifties style dresses and skirts in sophomore year of high school. It was... unique :P

Everyone says An Education is really good, but I haven't watched it yet. I don't know--I guess now I'm really intrigued because you hated it, haha.

I love that denim shirt with the plaid and the patterned tights! It's a really fun, casual look :)
