Funny Little Frog

It snowed like crazy last night and I woke up to a gorgeous white morning. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pack of snow this thick, the bushes in our backyard were like gigantic white balls of cotton candy. Truly magnificent. I sure hope we get a white christmas! I’m not even that big a fan of christmas. The day itself I mean. I love the holidays, but christmas day itself is nothing special. I’ll have to study for my exams anyway.
I’m planning a small new year’s eve party with some friends. I’m not a big party girl, I find that going out to dance totally loses its appeal when you get a steady boyfriend. I used to like going dancing to flirt with guys, but I’m not the type of girl that still physically flirts with other guys when she’s “committed”. I’m loyal and shiz. So I prefer getting together with my girlfriends, having a couple of drinks, joking around and talking about the things that matter most in life. Do you have any special plans?
Anyway, the snow was gorgeous and the sun was shining so bright it was actually almost… warm in the watery winter sun! I enjoyed taking my pictures and it didn’t take me long to get some that were good enough. Don’t you just love when those (daily) outfit pictures almost shoot themselves? Haha that sounded creepier than I intended. I love this dress, it’s warm and flannel and checkered and both casual and a bit dressed up, sort of english countryside-ish. I love that look in the colder seasons. I’ve been trying to evolve my style by not grabbing those foolproof black tights and black shoes to complete an outfit. Going for brown shoes and another shade of neutral tights (like brown, grey or white) gives a lot more depth and interest to a look than always going for boring black. Don’t get me wrong, black can look very strong and chic, but it’s often the easy way out. I don’t have quite as much respect for girls who always wear black as I do for girls who wear color with aplomb. Do you feel lazy sometimes for always reaching for black?
I added some new pics to my River Island review, some pictures other girls took of me at the event! Check them out if you’d like :)

PS: Don’t forget to check out my olsenboye contest entry and my winter wonderland contest entry- and fave them if you love them!

  2. I adore the colour of your dress, and you are right, it does look much better with the oatmeal tights rather than black. I love colour a bit too much I think, because I think sometimes I should play it safer and wear more black ;)

  5. I love the fur collar! I hope that baby appears in many a future post. I think I've got plans to hit a casino on New Years with some good friends so that we can gamble our hearts out.

  22. I always go for brown-based outfits unless I have a compelling urge to reach for black shoes and accessories. I'm not sure why... Maybe it's the red hair thing? I just think brown looks way better on me than black does for everyday fashions.

That snow looks so picturesque and magical! And while I do love dancing, the whole going-out-to-rub-up-on-random-guys-in-a-club just just isn't alluring to me. It's all about partying with friends!

  24. Great outfit. That snow is so beautiful! As is your little reindeer ring, I've never been able to pull off the socks and tights combo but you do it so perfectly! Also, is your title after the Belle and Sebastien song?
