Black and Blue

I never get it when people nag about certain color combinations like brown and black or black and blue. It really just depends on how you combine everything. Add a little purple in the mix, and you have a great moody fall combination. I love how the silver specks on my sweater remind me of a starry night sky, which goes so well with the dark colors. Since this summer, I’ve totally been into really classic, almost preppy looks (inspired by Diane Kruger, among others), and this one gets chalked up to that mindset too. I really love outfits like these because they feel like you haven’t been trying but still look really good, you know? Effortless style, timeless class, I’m into those. I guess I’m getting old, haha. But I always try to give my classic looks a bit of girly fun with printmixing, color or unexpected details like my freaky H&m ring. The frilly flower skirt is just such a cute, fun piece, and I love how the leopard wedges (the ones I painted purple myself with shoepolish) match the skirt in color, but not in print. A little extra print adds interest to a look, no?

I was also having a good hairday btw, don’t know if you can tell but in real life my hair looked amazing :D
JUST the right amount of messiness.
Oh, and please excuse my hairy tights. That is what a household full of cats does to your clothes.

I’m leaving you guys now, I have lots and lots and lots of schoolwork to do and I’m actually sort of flipping out over whether or not I’ll even get it done. I asked my boyfriend to set the alarm at 9.30 and he probably did, but the sound was turned down so I didn’t hear a thing and just woke up at 10.30 :( I need all the time I can get…

Bye!

  1. Thank you SO much for your comment, it was just about the loveliest comment ever =DDD Do you already follow my blog by the way??
I love your outfit here, the combinations of colours and prints are just perfect! I also know what you mean about tights, they seem to attract animal hair haha! At home I have a cat and a dog (although we used to have 2 cats so it was worse then ), and all my clothes, especially tights are forever covered in hair, or laddered from where they climbed on me =)

  5. NICE RING! I contemplated getting one like that from BCBG, but it was quite pricey, nice to see H&M having a version of it! (Plus, I love your outfit!)

    Bisous!

  6. This is really one of my favorite outfits of yours. Also, I'm glad that I'm not the only one with pet fur all over me. We got rid of our pooch a few weeks ago (I don't miss him... does that make me a bitch?)but his hair is still popping up on my outfits.

Keep on with the mixing. You're my hero.

  8. Cute skirt! I agree with you about the colours. I don't see the problem in mixing black and navy - I think if it's done right it can look extremely elegant! I hate it when everything is black and then there's one piece of blue or brown, though. Wear two pieces... tie it in a bit more!

  10. :( hope your school stress gets better over the weekend! I love how playful all of these colors are. The purple leopard shoes really work with the equally vibrant and fun skirt :)
