He's a magic man, momma

I beseeched the weathergods to allow me to wear this gorgeous mid calf dress only ONCE without tights or boots, because I thorougly regretted not having it when summer was still going strong. And then, suddenly, the sun came out and it was HOT and perfect for my ultralight flowy dress. This is a beauty that doesn’t need much else, and like I said in my midi/maxi skirt article (a piece I did for EIU on chictopia! check it out and let me know what you think!) this length looks amazing with platform wedges. So I just added an old belt and these nautical wedges and called it a day. My very favorite outfits are the simple ones that “click” when you put them together. Natural and organic instead of forced. This is the sort of outfit I’d LOVE to wear to go for a walk on a sunny afternoon with a friend, eating ice cream, strolling leisurely, windowshopping, talking, laughing, taking off our shoes… Perfecly summery. I love how it is such a modest, covering dress, but it still feels sensual because of how light the fabric is: you almost feel as if you aren’t wearing any clothes. I can tell that this dress is going to be one of my very favorite pieces ever. I’ll wear it through winter with a chunky scarf, fitted jacket, thick tights and ankle boots and without all the layers when the warmth returns to our Belgian skies.
Can you tell how in love I am with this dress? I wish more stores sold similar garments.

PS I’m totally and utterly head over heels (pun intended) with these New Look heels
The height! The platform! The suede! I need them in my life. So if anyone has some spare cash: just let me know and I’ll give you my adress to send them over and I’ll be eternally greatful.

  1. Love the shoes! I got similar suede platform heels at New Look when I was in London earlier this year. I wore them once for going out dancing. Big mistake. Haha. After five hours of dancing I could not feel my toes anymore. They are standing on my dresser now, so I can at least look at them. :D

  2. i love this look and definately the shoes...saw them in red and loved them then! LOVE the snake cuff...i like the mix of something edgy with such a floral, floaty dress. it makes the look kind of ecclectic and personalized...exactly what fashion should be :)

  6. I absolutely adore this dress on you...it makes you look like a hippie chick. Maybe the parrow hat will look great together with it or a simple leather or flower headband ;-)

  7. Sassy: I was thinking the exact same thing! I was wearing a hat with it at first, but I wanted the look to be more simple. A simple flower headband would've been perfect but I don't have one yet... It even made me search etsy for the perfect flower headband and I think I found it :D

    mici and terri: thanks darlings!
