Juice Head

skirt: H&M
dress worn as top: customized, Zara
headband: DIY, H&M
shoes: sac d'anvers

Hey boys and girls! This is the skirt I talked about yesterday, the one I’m madly in love with. And the headband is a very simple DIY I intend on posting in a few days, watch out for it if you like what you see!
I also thought I'd share my entry in the Juicy Couture contest on Chictopia with you. It asks us to describe what we do to make our life "juicy" :-D Enjoy!

How do I make my life juicy? I make my life juicy by pursuing my dreams. I can’t remember when I first thought to myself “I want to do something in fashion”. As a little girl, I cut up pieces of fabric and sewed them together on my Barbie dolls, creating my very own couture. I even made bright colored skintight outfits for my Barbies out of balloons I cut up! Thinking about that makes me realize I was a pretty creative kid. But I can imagine my mom being pissed at me cutting star-shaped holes in my nightgowns. Right now, I still customize my own clothes. But my creativity mainly gets expressed in the way I dress, putting things together and creating a look that shows my personality. I don’t care about what flatters me, I don’t care about what people might think when they see me walking down the street (OK, maybe just a little). I do care that I come across as my own person, as the individual I have created by taking bits and snippets from all the experiences and perceptions I’ve encountered in my short life. Movies, music, people, nature, events: they all inspire me and help me form myself. I feel like I am in control of who I am and of who I strive to become. Developing myself is my main goal in life, as true happiness lies in knowing who you are and who you are not.
But that concept of self is not rigid, it changes from day to day. Women are versatile creatures who can look like a sexpot one minute and a prim and proper careerwoman the next, but be everything on the inside. Clothes help us express that versatility.
Fashion is so much more than pieces of fabric. Fashion is the inept artist’s paint. Fashion is the window we create to allow people a look into our inner turmoil. Fasion is a means of communication. Fashion makes my life juicy.

Corny, right? :-D But I mean it wholeheartedly.
