Return of the jacket! You those that follow me probably remember me telling about how I lost and found this jacket a few weeks ago. I didn’t lose it again because that would be silly, but somehow jackets don’t get worn very often by me. They are too rigid, too structured, a feeling I mostly associate with coats! I prefer to wear a cardigan inside. I always find it silly when I hear men say they don’t like wearing a suit because it just doesn’t feel comfortable, but I can totally relate.
Oh well, I guess it’s just one of those things you have to get used too.

Anyway, I spotted this outfit on lookbook and I completely and utterly loved it and felt like I had the garments to replicate this outfit and make it my own in the process. My jacket and dress are quite a bit more simple, but I like simple and I upped the volume by wearing over the knee socks with it. I immediately thought of these ankle boots when I put the outfit together because they also have military-esque detailing with the buttons on the side. I was quite pleased with this look, I hope you like it too!

dress, jacket, socks: h&m
boots: pimkie

PS would you believe I actually didn’t feel that comfortable in this military inspired look because I’m totally against armies, guns, wars etc etc and I kind of feel like it’s wrong to glorify it? I’m such a hippie at heart.

Maybe that's why I'd love to live here:
I can only imagine how calming and soothing it must be to have your home be a part of nature, almost.

  1. My two cents worth...! :D

I think Annebeth that there is a difference from picking up historical references and trends from military uniforms and glorifying war. If you had a helmet, gun and army boots as part of your look then its a different story!

If you look back 200-300 years I think you will find that uniforms and civil clothes (officers and gentry) shared many details and sometimes it would be hard to decide what came first, the uniform or the clothes, the chicken or the egg?

That said... you look wonderful. I love the colours you have used, the jacket, the detail on the boots. You have really rocked this look. I love the socks with the tights too!

    Friday!!!!! :D :D

    Have a good day! :D

  2. I know I know, I'd never ever pick on someone for wearing army inspired outfits and it's not something that bothers me to no end, but somehow it got stuck in the back of my mind and it didn't feel all "right" to me! :D thanks for the insightful post :)

  6. those are really gorgeous homes. i wonder if the rock was original to the area or brought in to the home from an external source.
