Heads will roll

This is my ouftit from last night, I went out with some friends to some bars (only drank soda though), we ate a delicious pizza (forgot to photograph it, boo), laughed a lot, had loads of fun. I altered this dress myself, I shortened it, made it tighter and changed the neckline. I’m very happy with it, such a cute little dress and very flattering! Also, my boyfriend cut my hair a bit, it was kind of turning into a mullet so I bit the bullet (haha mullet-bullet) and trusted him with my precious locks. I'm so happy with how it turned out! I almost have a bob again.

Whiskey in the jar-oh

I started out with this outfit, but changed later on when I put on my leather jacket and found out I was looking just a bit too biker chick with the boots and all the leather. Don't have a lot to tell you guys, I don't have any time actually! Have to leave later on to meet up with some friends and I still have tons of things to do. See you later!

I want to break your heart and give you mine

My friend came over and we went to the hairsalon! She cut her hair short for the very first time and at first she wasn't too sure she liked it (kind of in shock, + the fact that your hair always looks a bit wonky if you've just returned from the hairdresser's), but I texted her just now and it's growing on her (no pun intended :D). She looked amazing if you ask me and I can't wait to see a picture of her now she's styled it in her own way :) Next monday her, my boyfriend and me are going to watch Avatar. I'm not that excited about the movie since I'm not at all into the whole videogame look of it (cgi makes movies lose their soul if you ask me), but I've never seen a 3D movie and my boyfriend really wants to see it, so I'll give it a chance. Have you seen it? Did you like it? I think the story's going to be so friggin corny :-D

I sound all happy but my day was crap, for the biggest part: I travelled to antwerp to meet up with fellow students for the presentation I'm giving next week, but none of them were very work-minded so nothing got done. Then we went to a class that was supposed to last an hour and a half, but after 15 minutes we were told the class was over. So I'd come all the way to Antwerp for virtually nothing. And then my train was delayed so I had to run to get my bus, and then my bus didn't ride all the way to my stop so I had to call my boyfriend's dad to pick me up and drive me the rest of the way home. Sigh. I have a headache now.

And then sometimes I dig it so much I could die

I am so happy, good things have been happening to me non stop today! I totally believe that god loves me right now. First, we got back our assignments for english. We had heard that the mean score for our class was 4/10 and that shit ain't good so I wuz like amagad noooo because I thought I'd done really well. And when I got back my paper I had an 8/10 and my professor asked me how I got to be so good at English! That is a superduper ego-boost ofcourse.
And then, because we got to leave early, I had some extra time to check out the shops before heading home, and guess what? I found that one coat that I had been dreaming of. You chictopians and friends probably know that I had been looking for this Zara coat in the sales. I almost bought it in the first week of the sales, but I changed my mind as it was still 70 euros and it was leopard, and I wasn't ready to fork over that much money for a coat that didn't go with everything (yeah, this is your mom speaking) and I probably wouldn't get much wear out, since it was faux fur and our winter never is that cold for a long period of time. And then ofcourse when I went back to see if it was still there a week later, it was gone, and I had googled countless images of bloggers looking stellar in that amazing coat or coats like it, and we were having the coldest winter in years here in Belgium. God didn't love me back then :( I looked in shops and on the internet for a similar coat, but nothing compared to it. I even contemplated buying it from ebay for an insane amount of money, but thank god I didn't because it suddenly popped back up in the shop today and it only cost 30 euros!!!!!!!!!! If my class hadn't ended early I would've never walked into Zara, and then the coat would've been gone because just after I saw and grabbed MY coat, two old ladies were ooh-ing and aaah-ing over them and bought one each! And the shop had only been open for half an hour... This coat is way too gorgeous to sit in a shop without being bought. And now I can honestly look at all those gorgeous fashionbloggers with their cute leopard coats and go "meh, MINE's better". Because it's true.

DUDE that shit is kerrazy

And this is what I wore underneath that glorious coat. You can't really tell from the pictures but this (new, also Zara, just 8 euros!) sweater has silver paint splattered all over it, amazing.

In an hour or so my friend is coming over and we're going to get her hair did. She's going for short hair for the very first time and I recommended my hairdresser because he does EXACTLY what you want him to: he doesn't cut it too short or styles it his own way, and hairdressers like that are so rare!

I can't stop listening to this song. First time I heard it I thought it was too much of a Dylan ripoff, but it's just a real pretty song. Check it out!

also absolutely love this one:

Oh no it's raining again

Yesterday it was 10° celsius and today we're back at 4° celsius and it feels sooooo cold with the wind and the rain :( I'm totally ready for summer, dude. If I'd be more athletic I'd be waxing my surfboard, but being the girl that I am, I just stick to waxing my legs.
Not that I'm one of those types of girls that don't shave or wax during wintertime, I'd feel like a caveman!
I had this outfit as an image in my head: big poofy skirt with a menswear blouse , worn half buttoned up. I think I was inspired by the military trend that's having a moment at the moment :-D The color of the shirt is prettier in real life, something between gold and olive, but you get the picture:

My cat was begging me for attention

Listening to: Turbonegro - Fuck The World
Sometimes you feel like listening to songs that kick ass. I love me some guitars.

Summertime when the living is easy

That lyric is so true. I always feel like living is SO much easier when it's warm outside. It starts when you get out of bed in the morning: just the simple act of pulling away the covers and placing your feet on the cold floor is SO much easier if it's warm and you see sun rays peeking through your bedroom curtains. Then you go to the bathroom to shower: you don't have to wait for the bathroom to get warm after you've turned on the radiator, you just undress (if you're wearing any jammies) and hop into the shower, without your skin showing goosebumps the size of Adrien Brody's nose (no offense, he's hellacute but the boy has a serious olfactory advantage). After you've showered, you get dressed. Dressing is also one of those things that are easier when it's summer. Instead of having to pile on the layers of sweaters, thermal underwear and tights, you just slip into a sundress and you're done! And if you need to go somewhere, you don't have to bother with extra scarves and gloves and hats and boots and umbrellas, you just put on some sandals, grab a pair of sunglasses and you're off!
And I haven't even started on ice cream, reading books in my backyard or days at the beach...

Why do I torture myself like this, I have at least another month of chilly temperatures ahead of me :(

this is what I wore today:

dress: pimkie
cardigan: zara
boots: h&m
necklace: h&m

Sorry for the crappy picture quality but my camera wouldn't work with me. I bet it's sick of the winter too :(

You are part of a league of morons

Just watched Burn After Reading yesterday, not expecting a lot, and I loved it. I had heard other people saying that it was a let down and that, while it did deliver a few good moments, they weren't fully convinced. I thought it was intelligently written, I loved that it had a message (people never being honest with each other, functioning as spooks in their own lives, always having a hidden agenda) and every character was just right. I recommend it if you want to watch a light movie that is still intelligent and a bit dark!
I especially loved Brad Pitt's performance: I've never been a big fan of his but I like his more humoristic performances. And John Malkovich ruled, ofcourse.

I've been studying Verbal and Non Verbal Communication today, and I took a break to take my outfit pictures:

top: h&m
skirt: pimkie
tights: h&m
shoes: sac d'anvers
flower pin: h&m
lipstick: hema

my cats really don't like having their picture taken:

awww cute lil kitty cat

Currently on my to watch list:
Every Studio Ghibli movie I haven't seen yet.

Also: how do you guys feel about Alexander McQueen's business being continued without him? I'm against it: they should just give another young designer a chance instead of continuing this house of McQueen which was obviously HIS thing, not just a label. But he once said in an interview that he'd want his name and label to live on after his death, so I guess that it's what he would've wanted...

And do I really understand the undernetting ?

It seems that every sunday, I feel like listening to sweet (pop)songs from the sixties and seventies. Some songs/artists that almost always fill the air on sunday morning:

The Zombies
Love - Alone again or
The Velvet Underground
The Beatles
The Kinks
The Byrds
Does anyone have any other tips for songs or artists in the same genre?

My outfit today:
Dress: H&m
Leggings: Pimkie
Boots: New Look
Belt: ribbon from H&M dress
Necklace: H&m
Nailpolish: Hema
Ring: Alex Monroe

The ring I'm wearing is the one my boyfriend got me for our 5 year anniversary + my birthday and I absolutely LOVE it. I wear it practically every day and whenever I look at it, it makes me smile. It's from Alex Monroe, and I can totally recommend ordering from them: they have the BEST customer's service (they made a custom version of a ring I loved because it was too big for everyday wear), their stuff is really pretty and fun, but still elegant and timeless, and not at all THAT expensive for something you'd buy for a special occasion. And they make everything on order, so you can choose for them to make it in silver or in gold, depending on your financial resources.
Btw they did NOT pay me to talk about this, haha :-D I wish! They could pay me with jewellery! I wouldn't mind finding these on my doorstep:
snake+ flowers, original sin ring

double lily ring, would make a perfect wedding ring if you ask me!

rose wreath ring, so cute
owl arch necklace
pictures: http://www.alexmonroe.com/

Anyway, you get the picture: nature based jewellery with a hint of fairytale magic to them, without making it too kiddy.

Now I really have to go do some homework, I have a french presentation march 4th and I hate having to do things last minutes!

Listening to: Nico - Time of the Season (I heard this song for the first time when I watched The Royal Tenenbaums, watch that movie if you haven't already!)
Breakfast: a soft boiled egg on toast with orange juice
